Drain Relining North West
If your drains need cleaning or replacing, drain relining is a more cost-effective, less time-consuming and much cleaner way to restore the inside of your old pipes. An example of this is the CCTV Drain Survey. The survey is carried out by our trained staff and identifies any relining requirements. We discuss the survey findings with you, including any additional works discovered in the survey. We provide you with a no-obligation competitive quote. Once you agree on the work, we will complete the job at a suitable time for you.
What is drain relining?
(CIPP) patch repairs or liners are a cost effective way to repair isolated defects within a length of sewer or drain. The patch is a short sleeve of glass-fibre reinforced matting impregnated with silicate resin. The repair is attached to a packer which is winched through the pipe or pushed through using manual rodding methods and inflated over the defect. The patch is cured in place and bonds to the existing pipe-work restoring the structural stability of the original pipe and is approved by ( WRc ) water and sewerage.
What are the signs that pipes need relining?
Sewer odours, slow drains and constant clogs are some signs that a pipe needs to be inspected and possibly relined.
What works are done before drain relining?
Two trained workers usually carry it out. They first carry out a CCTV Drain Survey by inserting a tiny camera inside the pipe to identify cracks or leaks. After assessing the damage, they clean the pipe with water and a rotating chain. Once the built-up waste has been removed, the new lining is applied.
What is the process of drain relining?
The workers measure up the old pipe and cut a piece of felt the same size as the pipe. A vacuum pump sucks out any air inside the liner so it can be filled with epoxy resin. Once there is no room for air bubbles which weaken the epoxy resin, they fill it up. The epoxy resin is extremely strong and resistant to chemicals. It also prevents the roots of trees or plants from getting into pipes and blocking them. Since the resin is a liquid, it can be used to repair pipes of any size. An air compressor pushes the lining inside the old pipe using pressurised air. Once it’s in there, it is inflated with air which blows out the felt liner to seal against the existing pipe and create a new tough pipe that holds up any breaks or cracks. After that, the lining can be deflated and removed. The newly formed pipe can be used as usual after about four hours of work.
How strong is the new pipe?
The finished product can last over 10 years, twice as long as a brand new PVC pipe.
Does pipe relining fix all pipes?
While pipe relining is better than replacement in most circumstances, if the damage to your pipes is substantial, then pipe relining may not be sufficient and old pipes will need to be replaced with new ones. Our trained staff will be able to advise on that after a CCTV Drain Survey.
